My love language is food

Hi! I’m Farah 🙂 a 20-something year old who’s got the dreamer’s disease. Welcome to Farah J Eats!
In Malaysia, most often than not; the first thing we ask each other after saying hi is “Dah makan?” which translates to have you eaten?
My love for food definitely stemmed from my Malaysian culture and background. Back home, the diversity of the country resulted in a variety of dishes that are just rich in history and flavor. Growing up around this has made me appreciative of the different depth, flavors and ways dishes are prepared.
Although I started as someone who just enjoyed the food with zero cooking skills, moving to the US 11 years ago basically jump started my home cook adventures. I started missing Malaysian food and couldn’t get it anywhere. I had no choice but to learn how to cook it. After lots of cooking mishaps and countless virtual cooking lessons with my mom, I started falling in love with cooking.

My global travels have also inspired me to cook more. I would say I’m pretty adventurous with food and am willing to try anything and everything at least once. Social media just enabled this passion even more with delicious food that I want (NEED) to try. Every bite that has my foodie bone tingling or every video that leaves me salivating just fuelled my passion for cooking even more.
With my husband as my guinea pig, I even started making my own recipes! I started cooking daily and do so happily for the people I love. I’ve been watching so many food content creators through the years and one day decided, “Hey, I want to try doing it too!”
So here I am. A curated platform of the foods of my culture, experiences and cravings.
I am so incredibly excited to share this journey and recipes with those who are willing to listen (or read). I only hope that these recipes can bring you and your family as much joy as it does to me 💛
Live happy,
Farah J
