easy quick asian fusion garlic noodles

Another day, another Quick Meals recipe! These garlic noodles are sort of an Asian fusion style dish that’s perfect for any day of the week.

Prepare to make a huge batch of the noodles because everyone will keep asking for more! (I know this because my husband gobbles it up pretty quickly 🤭 )

Notes for easy delicious garlic noodles

  • Type of noodle – I find that spaghetti, linguine or even angel hair pasta work best for this. Feel free to use normal egg noodles too if you like. Enjoy!
  • Amount of garlic – Use as much garlic as your heart desires. Mine just happened to be 8 garlic cloves.

  • 1/2 lb spaghetti noodles about 1/2 a box
  • 8 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 green onion diced
  • 3 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1/2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp parmesan
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Mix the light soy sauce, oyster sauce and sugar in a bowl and boil the spaghetti noodles according to the instructions. Reserve about 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  • On low heat, add butter and olive oil to a pan.
  • Once the butter melts, add garlic and the white part of green onion. Sauté on low heat for 3-5 minutes or right before the garlic turns lightly golden.
  • Add the sauce and a splash of pasta water. Turn the heat up to medium and stir well.
  • Once the sauce starts simmering, add the noodles and coat the noodles with the sauce.
  • Add parmesan and keep stirring until every strand is well coated.
  • Serve on a plate/bowl. Optional: drizzle chili oil for some heat and add more parmesan. Garnish with green onions and enjoy!

Notes

*Use as much garlic as your heart desires. Mine just happened to be 8 garlic cloves.

This was SO GOOD!!!!! I made it last night for my fiancé and I and he said it was the best noodle dish I’ve ever made. Added some fried tofu and swapped out the Parmesan with nutritional yeast to keep it dairy free and it worked like a charm. Definitely keeping this in my go-to dinner recipe list!

I was pleasantly surprised by how good this was. Nice balance of salt, umami and garlic. Freshly grated Parm topped it off perfectly. It was ready to eat in no time. I did thicken the sauce with a bit of cornstarch and threw some sliced shiitakes I had in the fridge in too. I like that it’s adaptable to whatever veggies or protein you want to add.

The best pizza in the city where pizza was invente The best pizza in the city where pizza was invented @farahjeats 🍕
📍Pizzeria Da Michele, Naples, Italy
📍 Pizzeria D’angeli, Naples, Italy
We got pizza from one of the oldest pizzerias in Naples, Italy and it didn’t disappoint. We got there right when it opened and there was already a line. We ended up getting the pizzas to-go and ate it on the hood of our rental car. Each box of pizza was only €5 and we got every item on the menu (it was only a 4 item menu anyway 😂). While waiting in line, the smell of the wood fired pizza was sooo good we were so hungry by the time we got our orders. We got pizzas from across the street too just to compare. There was no line at that restaurant and you could easily get a table. It was a little bit more expensive per pizza but still affordable. Both pizzas were delicious! Still dreaming about it till this day 🥲
Fun fact: Eat, Pray, Love was filmed at Pizzeria Da Michele!

Popular in Malaysia and neighboring countries like Indonesia and Singapore— with each country having their own version of it. Chewy noodles infused with spicy, tangy and savory flavors, and ready within 30 minutes!
This is definitely not an authentic recipe but a simplified version that my mother-in-law makes often and now a recipe that I make quite a lot for a quick breakfast using ingredients easily accessible to us here. It definitely hits the spot! Feel free to add protein of your choice to this dish or just add a fried egg on top!
I’ll work on an authentic Malaysian mee goreng recipe and share soon ☺️

Ramadan recipe #21 Rendang Ayam (Dry Chicken Cocon Ramadan recipe #21 Rendang Ayam (Dry Chicken Coconut Curry) @farahjeats
Save and share this flavorful and delicious recipe!
Ending my Ramadan series with one of the best dishes. This is a dish that’s traditionally served during Eid/Raya in Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore. Every family usually has their own version of this. It’s usually served with nasi impit (cubed rice), lemang or pulut kuning (turmeric glutinous rice) but also just as good with white rice.
Making this is a truly a labor of love especially when you make big batches. It can take hours! Families will cook this the night before Eid so the dish will be ready in time for the big celebration. The whole house will usually smell like rendang when this is made and honestly, one of the best smells that reminds me of such great and fond memories.
This month just flew by— thanks so much for tuning in. I’ll be back with my usual twice a week recipes starting next week 💛
