Mini Crab Rangoon Pizza

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

For those who love Chinese takeout, this might be a familiar taste. Crab Rangoon is a staple appetizer for Chinese restaurants in the States. It’s essentially fried wontons with cream cheese and crab meat as fillings. This Mini Crab Rangoon Pizza is a fun twist to that and is perfect for sharing!

Mini Crab Rangoon Pizza

A few years ago while visiting my best friend in Des Moines, Iowa, she ordered Crab Rangoon Pizza from a local restaurant and raved to me on how good it was. I’ve always loved crab rangoon and thought it was so creative of them to turn it into a pizza! I took a bite and was sold. So here’s my take on it.

I used store bought classic pizza crust but thin crust works so well for this too! For a little bit of crunch, you can fry wonton wrappers, break it into smaller pieces and sprinkle on top.

Have you tried crab rangoon pizza before?

Ingredients

Crab Rangoon Filling

  • 1 box cream cheese (softened)
  • 5 crab sticks (minced)
  • 1 green onion (minced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced/grated)
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 tsp light soy sauce
  • 2.5 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp pepper

Others

  • 1 pizza dough (classic/thin crust)
  • shredded cheese
  • sweet chili sauce
  • green onions (optional – for garnish)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven according to the store bought pizza dough instructions.
  • Mix all the crab rangoon filling ingredients in a bowl until well incorporated.
  • Cut pizza dough into preferred size circles. I used a bowl as a guide.
  • Push the dough out to the edges starting from the center.
  • Add the filling and spread out leaving a small gap around the edges.
  • Bake according to the pizza crust instructions, adding the shredded cheese on top halfway through.
  • Once baked, let the pizza cool for 5 minutes before adding the sweet chili sauce and garnish with green onions. Enjoy!

Notes

*If you want a bigger pizza, skip the cutting the pizza into a smaller circle step.
*Crushed fried wonton wrappers are also a good topping for extra crunch.
