Welcome to Day 20 my Ramadan 2023 Series. We’re already in the final week of the Ramadan month! So if you have some extra dates lying around, this recipe for chocolate covered dates with peanut butter is perfect for you.
I first came across these sweet treats after stumbling upon Hajar Larbah of Moribyan’s video on TikTok (and Instagram). And since I’m a big fan of dates, especially Medjool dates, it quickly became one of my favorite things to have!
Chocolate Covered Dates With Peanut Butter
These sweet morsels are also seen as a healthier version of the Snickers bar. It’s made by stuffing in peanut butter and crushed nuts in pitted Medjool dates. The dates are then coated in melted chocolate, and drizzled with more crushed nuts on top, before chilling in the fridge to solidify the chocolate.
And voila! It’s as simple as that. I also made a white chocolate version of these guilt-free treats, which I love just as dearly.
Medjool Dates
Medjool dates have a soft and chewy texture, while having a similar taste to caramel. Aside from being a natural sweetener and known as “nature’s candy”, it also provides a boost of antioxidants and fiber.

notes for chocolate peanut butter dates (snickers stuffed dates)
- Best to keep refrigerated up until before serving.
- You can use other dates too but medjool dates will be best for this. If you are using other dates and the dates are too soft to handle, I recommend refrigerating or freezing uncovered for at least 30 minutes before making this.
