If you’re looking to whip up some sweet treats but get intimidated by the process of it all, then you’ve come to the right place. I’m not a baker myself, so I totally get you! Here are 5 easy desserts for you to try that are simple and forgiving.

Whether it be easy desserts with few ingredients, or no bake recipes, these beginner-friendly treats would be perfect for potlucks, dinner parties, or even for your own indulgence.


1. Basque Burnt Cheesecake

This Basque cheesecake has a “burnt” crust that’s caramel-like on the outside, while creamy on the inside. So you don’t need to stress about a smooth surface! All you need to do is to blend all the ingredients together, pour into a pan, then bake.

2. Biscoff Banana Pudding

This Biscoff Banana Pudding is definitely a crowd favorite. And it’s so easy to put together! Essentially, you just need to layer the pudding, bananas, Biscoff cookies, and Nilla wafers, and voila! All done.

3. Cheesekut (Creamy Layered Cookie Cake)

Here’s another dessert that you can use up your Biscoff cookies with (which you can swap with any other cookie of your choice): the Cheesekut. Or Cheese + Biscuit (biskut). It’s a viral Malaysian no-bake dessert that layers cookies dipped in milk with cream cheese, whipped cream, and condensed milk.

You can say that it’s a distant cousin to tiramisu or the ice box cake due to its similarities.

4. Batik Cake (Kek Batik)

This no bake chocolate cookie cake is called Kek Batik (or Batik Cake) in Malaysia. However, it’s also known in the UK as the chocolate tiffin, or the hedgehog slice in Australia. It has a soft and fudgy texture, with a bit of that cookie crunch.
