Aside from soups, the ever classic chili is another go-to chilly day (pun intended) comfort food for my family. A savory feast that’s so rich and flavorful, you can have a bowl of just the chili on its own and that still makes for a satisfying meal.

This recipe is perfect for those busy days when you’re constantly on the go, or even for weeknight dinners when you just want something that can be quickly put together. It’s so easy to make, requiring only 10 minutes of prep time before you throw everything into the slow cooker, then let it take its course.

Easy Slow Cooker Chili Recipe

Ground beef, tomatoes, and mixed beans come together in this recipe, combined with an array of seasonings and cooked slowly over 8 hours in a crock-pot.

The length of cooking time can be halved by increasing the heat settings. However, the longer you cook your chili, the seasonings fuse together even better, and the beef becomes amazingly tender.

Finish it off with your favorite toppings for a simple and delicious meal.

Instructions

  1. Add all the ingredients to your slow cooker. Stir and let it cook on low for 8 hours.
  2. Once cooked, taste and adjust accordingly if needed. Optional step: With a potato masher, mash the the chili to ensure all the ingredients are broken down and there are no clumps. Add cornstarch slurry to thicken the chili and stir.
  3. Serve with diced onions, shredded cheddar, sour cream, sliced jalapeno and green onions. Enjoy!

Notes for Easy Slow Cooker Chili

  • For faster cooking, cook on high for 4 hours but the longer it cooks, the better.
  • Once you heat up the chili after refrigerating or freezing the chili, add water to loosen the thickness of the chili.
  • Serving options: With hotdogs, burgers, fries, baked potatoes, nachos, tacos, and more.

I’m a savory kind of girl and have always preferred my oatmeals savory. Some people think it’s weird, I say don’t knock it until you’ve tried it. The best part? You can be creative with this! I’ve added pesto to my oatmeal before and it was delicious.
I also prefer a thicker oatmeal, add more water if you don’t.
Would you try this or are you sticking to your sweet oatmeal? 😋
