We’re half way through November, which means Thanksgiving is approaching real soon! Here are some meal ideas for Thanksgiving dinner that you can consider for your side dishes. From potato recipes to bake casseroles, and some with a simple fusion twist by using miso. You’ll keep wanting to snack on these sides throughout the day!
1. Sweet Potato Mash With Miso Butter
Sweet potatoes are a favorite of many when it comes to Thanksgiving sides. So to start this list off, here’s an easy mashed sweet potato recipe with the use of miso butter for an added umami taste. It’s so simple, it requires only 5 main ingredients for the dish!
2. Crispy Miso Smashed Potatoes
Following the theme of potatoes and miso, here’s a crispy miso smashed potatoes recipe that you have to try! Enjoy it with your choice of favorite sauces, or try out the suggested spicy tangy sauce as a dip!
3. Garlic Butter Roasted Potatoes
To round up the potato recipes, there’s no other classic than these oven roasted potatoes tossed in a mouthwatering garlic butter sauce. This recipe will give you potatoes that are soft and tender on the inside, while deliciously crispy on the outside.
4. Cheesy Hash Brown Casserole
This delicious Cheesy Hash Brown Casserole is definitely a crowd favorite in our household. My mother-in-law would always make this for the holidays without fail, and it’ll be almost gone before you know it. Have a go at this simple and easy crispy, creamy, tangy and buttery goodness.
5. Cheesy Chili Oil Pasta Bake
This Cheesy Chili Oil Pasta Bake is definitely fit for a crowd. It was actually inspired by Gigi Hadid’s viral Spicy Vodka Pasta, which in turn is based off the Italian Penne Alla Vodka. However, my version is vodka free. And of course I had to use chili oil to tie everything together!
6. Salmon Crab Stick Sushi Bake
If you want another casserole style dish with a fun twist, then give this Salmon Crab Stick Sushi Bake a try! It’s essentially a deconstructed sushi that is layered and baked in an oven-safe pan. A fun dish to share during gatherings!
Bonus: One Pot Creamy Mac and Cheese
To finish this list off, we have have to go with the Mac and Cheese, which is almost like a staple during holiday season. To keep things easy going, here’s a one pot mac and cheese recipe that’s nice and creamy, and seasoned to perfection.
