My Top 5 Most Popular Recipes Of 2023

easy quick creamy thai tom yum udon noodles delicious tom kha gai

deliciously simple: top 5 recipes you’ll love

Can you believe that we’re approaching 2024 already? Well, before we step into the new year, I’d just like to roundup and share my top 5 most popular recipes of 2023. These well-loved recipes were a hit on both Instagram and TikTok.

Interestingly, 4 out of the 5 spots on this list were taken up by noodle recipes. (But I get it guys, cause noodles are love. Noodles are life!). And the fifth went to a fried chicken recipe. (Also very understandable).

So buckle up for mouthwatering dishes that are absolutely flavorful, but yet simple and easy to make. Let’s dive right in, shall we?

1. Easy Dan Dan Noodles

If spicy, savory, and nutty flavors sounds like your cup of tea, then give this Dan Dan Noodles a try! This recipe is a more Americanized version of the spicy Sichuan dish, which pairs the noodles with a sauce base rather than a broth.

And you can assemble your own bowl within just 25 minutes! My toppings included some ground beef, gai lan or bok choy, and pickled veggies.

2. Spicy Rabokki (Ramen and Tteokbokki)

I think Koreans really know how to level up their instant ramen game. Case in point: this delicious Spicy Rabokki. The name Rabokki is a play on the two main ingredients of this dish–instant ramen (ra) and tteokbokki (bokki).

You can enjoy the sweet and spicy flavors of this rabokki within just 20 minutes! Snack on it at any time of the day. It’s also a great dish to accompany you during your Kdrama binge sessions. (Yes, I do exactly that).

3. Easy Hearty Noodle Soup

There’s nothing like a bowl of hot noodle soup to warm you up during the cold days of winter. And this Hearty Noodle Soup recipe is one to keep in your back pocket. Especially since it can be put together within just 15 minutes!

This creamy and spicy noodle dish has a savory and slightly nutty soup flavor, made from ingredients like light soy sauce, oyster sauce, tahini (or peanut butter!), chili oil, and milk.

4. Creamy Tom Yum Udon

Fun fact: I was inspired to make this Creamy Tom Yum Udon Noodles dish because I was craving for the ones from FamilyMart (a Japanese convenience store) in Malaysia. I somehow ended up with a more creamy and sauce based dish, as opposed to a brothy soup. But it turned into one of my absolute favorites.

This savory, hot, and sour flavored noodle dish is so easy and quick to make, it takes only 20 minutes from start to finish!

5. Garlic Fried Chicken

And last, but certainly not least, is the deliciously crispy Garlic Fried Chicken. It’s also known as Ayam Goreng Bawang Putih, and was a viral sensation in Indonesia and Malaysia on TikTok.

The chicken is marinated in a batter that consists of blended aromatics (like garlic and shallots) and seasonings (curry powder and chili powder). Then it’s fried in oil until it’s halfway cooked before smashed garlic cloves are added for even more flavor.

You can indulge on it just as is, or pair it up with some rice for dinner!
